Continuous admission

Apply flexibly throughout the year

You can apply for vocational education and training organised by Keuda flexibly throughout the year (continuous admission). You can only be accepted as a student if your home municipality is in Finland.

If you are accepted, the start of your studies will be agreed with you individually. The decision to accept you as a student will be made as soon as possible after the interview.

Language skills

The language of instruction in Keuda’s vocational education and training is Finnish, but some of our educational programmes are in English. During the application phase, we test the language skills, if necessary, by a written skill testing and an interview of the applicant with the teacher. If you have a certificate of your language skills, you should attach it to the application form.

Health requirements (SORA Act)

Circumstances related to the student’s health or functional capacity must not be an obstacle to being accepted as a student. However, a person who is not capable of practical tasks related to studies or of learning on the job cannot be accepted as a student.

You can find more information about health requirements at Opintopolku.

Preliminary assignments

Preliminary assignments and an individual interview, which will be scored, will be organized for applicants who apply for the Pekka Halonen Academy’s vocational degree in fine and media arts. There are no preliminary assignments for other qualifications.

Fill in the application form on the page of the educational programme

The application form can be found on the webpage of the respective qualification training programme. Fill in the application form for the qualification you are primarily interested in. We only process one application at a time, so please do not fill out more than one application. Please use your personal email address on your application, beacause we will inform you via email regarding your interview and whether we can offer you a place to study. The messages may go to spam, so check your spam folder as well. It is possible to change the programme you’re applying for by contacting the Admission Services. Please also inform the Admission Services if you want to complement your application or if, for example, your contact information has been changed.

When applying to complete a vocational qualification unit, fill in the application form for the qualification to which the said unit belongs. Enter the name of the unit in the additional information part of the application form. Some of the vocational qualification units are available as ready learning modules. You can apply for them directly using the application form found on the webpages of the qualification programme in question.

Attach the following certificates to your application:

  • basic education certificate if you do not have a degree/qualification after it
  • upper secondary education certificate (vocational upper secondary qualification and the transcript of record related to it or general upper secondary education certificate)
  • work certificates at your own discretion (e.g., one specific to your industry branch).

Submit the certificates with the application form, and they will be ready for a possible interview. The foreign certificate and transcript must be issued by the competent authority in the country in question.

If you are applying for vocational upper secondary qualification

When applying to study for vocational upper secondary qualification or a unit the language of instruction of which is Finnish, you will be invited to an offline interview on the guidance day. Guidance days are organized monthly. The teacher will interview you and you will get more information about the education and the start of your studies. You will receive an invitation to the guidance day interview by email. If you apply for English-language education or an apprenticeship, the teacher will interview you by phone. After the interview, a decision will be made whether we can offer you a place to study.

Applicants who apply for the Pekka Halonen Academy’s vocational degree in fine and media arts in the continuous admission must complete a preliminary assignment. You will receive the preliminary assignment instructions along with the invitation to the guidance day.

If you are applying for a further vocational or specialist vocational qualification

When you apply to study for a further vocational or specialist vocational qualification or a unit thereof, the subject teacher will contact you within two weeks of submitting the application. The teacher will interview you and make sure that the qualification-specific requirements are met and that your language skills are sufficient to complete the educational programme. At the same time, you will receive additional information about the programme and the start of studies. An appointment will be arranged with you during which your studies will be personalized. After the interview, a decision will be made whether we can offer you a place to study.

Applying for an apprenticeship requires a job in the field in question

You can apply for apprenticeship training with the employer’s permission. The application form can be found on the educational programme’s own webpage. When you fill out the application form, click on  Haen oppisopimuskoulutukseen  (Apply for apprenticeship training) and fill in the employer/company and contact person information. After that answer the question about the apprenticeship at the end of the form in the ‘questions’ section. The teacher in the respective area will contact you and your employer within two weeks of submitting the application. The teacher will interview you and you will get more information about the programme and the start of your studies.
